Some resorts welcome the entire family, including the furry ones.
As pet-owners know, animals can become as much a part of the family as their owners. Some pet-owners may prefer to travel with their pets rather than place them in kennels for a weekend getaway or family vacation. Others may prefer to travel without their pets, but find themselves unable to find a kennel on short notice or during particularly high travel seasons. Pennsylvania has resorts that open their doors to pets in hopes of gaining the business of traveling pet-owners.
Lancaster Host Resort
Lancaster Host Resort is a Pennsylvania resort for pets and their owners. Pets can explore the expansive property and play with their owners. Small household animals such as dogs and cats are welcome, and a nonrefundable $35 room fee is charged. All animals must be supervised in rooms. Owners can take their dogs on a walking trail near the rear of the hotel. Children can take part in arts, crafts and swimming pool games during their stay, while mom and dad head to the 18-hole golf course for some time on the greens. The resort staff rents bikes, and the resort provides an indoor swimming pool for chilly days. A fitness center is on the property, and three full-service restaurants to keep guests from getting hungry. For a quick bite, guests can patronize three counter service cafes that serve burgers, beer and hand-dipped ice cream.
