A Bichon Poo is a cross between a Bichon Frise and a poodle. The rise in popularity of poodle hybrids is greatly attributed to their allergy friendly coats and docile temperaments. The Bichon Poo also does not shed very much and naturally has an affectionate sensitive nature. However, because of their intelligence, a Bichon Poo requires owners that have the time and desire to train and care for their dog. Read on to learn care for a Bichon Poo.
Instructions
1. House train your dog using puppy pads and/or a crate. Dogs do not like to have urine in their "nest" so they will usually learn very quickly to hold it while in their crate. Use food as positive reinforcement.
2. Walk or provide energetic activity for your dog daily. The Bichon Poo is physically active and needs an outlet for its liveliness or it may resort to destructive behavior.
3. Brush your dog's coat once every two days taking care to brush out any tangles. Have the dog groomed and trimmed once every two months. Keep the coat short to avoid knots.
4. Take your dog for short car rides to relieve car anxiety. Lengthen the car rides as your dog relaxes and starts to enjoy the journey.
5. Spend ample amounts of time training your dog to sit and stay. Use positive reinforcement to help your dog learn quickly.
