You will be creating this style of dog house out of cardboard.
Cardboard is not the standard building material when it comes to dog houses. If you have a small indoor dog, however, it can work perfectly to give your pet somewhere private to go if it wants. Cardboard dog houses are easy to make and a fun project to involve your children. They can be painted and decorated as wildly as you want. And when they start to fall apart, you can simply build a new one.
Instructions
1. Select a box that is large enough for your dog to lie down comfortably.
2. Cut the side flaps off of the box with a utility knife.
3. Cut the upper corners off of the front and back flaps, turning them into triangles. The peaks of the triangles will be the peak of the roof.
4. Cut two roof panels from another box. They should be a few inches longer than the length of the dog house and wide enough to extend from the peak of the roof to a few inches past the side walls.
5. The roof panels meet at the top of the triangle flaps.
Attach the roof panels to either side of the triangle flaps with packaging tape. Seal the seam along the sides of the roof with more tape.
6. Cut out an arch from the front of the dog house large enough for your dog to get through.
7. Paint the dog house in whatever style you want.
8. Put the dog house on the floor with a towel or blanket folded up inside.
