Many Vermont resorts will welcome your pets for a small fee.
Vermont has resorts that are pet-friendly, so finding a place to stay when you're traveling with your cat or dog in the "Green Mountain" state should be fairly easy. With a wide variety of outdoor activities like hiking, skiing and sailing, Vermont is an outdoor adventurer's dream. When you're headed to Vermont you won't need to kennel your cat or dog, just call ahead to reserve a pet-friendly room at one of the state's many resorts.
Mountain Top Inn and Resort
The Mountain Top Inn and Resort in Chittenden welcomes pets into its rustic cabins, though you cannot bring your dog into the lodge. For a $25 fee, per pet, per night, you can keep your pet with you here. With three days notice, you can even hire a pet walker on-site so that your pet can get exercise while you're enjoying your vacation. The Mountain Top Inn and Resort does prefer that animals stay crated when you're out, and can deny housekeeping services to your cabin if you leave your animals loose. Cabins range from $205 to $575, depending on the number of bedrooms and the season that you plan on staying. The resort offers massage services, a restaurant, a beautiful view of the lake, and guided outdoor activities for people who prefer to stick close to their accommodations. (Rates current as of March, 2010.)
