1. Invest in a quality sewing machine if you do not already have one. In order to make a good living sewing dog clothes at home you need to make sure that what you produce is of the highest possible quality.
2. Open an eBay account, and start researching the final selling prices of items similar to the ones you have available. To find the final selling price, type a description in the search box and check the "completed items" box.
3. Open a PayPal account. Many eBay buyers look for the PayPal option and will not deal with sellers who do not offer it. PayPal can also be used to accept direct payments from customers on your website or blog.
4. Create colorful business cards and fliers, and post them where pet lovers are likely to congregate. These pet-friendly venues include veterinary offices, pet stores and feed stores.
5. Hand out your business cards at the local dog park. Dog lovers at the dog park are likely to be receptive to buying dog clothes for their pets. It is a good idea to bring along a few sample clothes, or better yet, bring your own dog and let him be the model.
6. Attend dog shows in your area, and set up a stand to sell you dog clothes. Be sure to contact the management of the show at least a month prior to work out the details. Bring plenty of different size clothes, so shoppers can choose what they want. Also bring fliers and business cards with links to your personal website, blog and eBay store.
