Look For A Scotty Puppy

A Scotty dog, also known as a Scottish Terrier, originated in Scotland in the early 1700s and was brought to the United States during the 19th century. The dogs were first used to hunt small animals such as rabbits, foxes and badgers. Scottish Terriers are active little dogs, usually weighing no more than 20 pounds and growing no taller than 10 or 11 inches. Their fur is quite wiry and requires regular grooming. The breed is recognized by the American Kennel Club, and if you are looking for a Scotty puppy as a pet, there are many options available to help you find one.

Instructions

find a Scotty puppy

1. Searching the Internet is one way to find a Scottish Terrier puppy. Breeders often have websites with photos of available puppies and their parents, as well as comments from past customers. You might want to narrow your search to breeders in your area. These websites will usually provide contact information so you can discuss prices and arrange for meetings.

2. Contact veterinary offices in your area. People with puppies for sale often advertise in these offices with brochures and pictures of the puppies. The veterinarians may also know customers who have Scottish Terriers and they might be willing to contact them to see if they have any available puppies. The puppie owners might also have contact information for the breeder where they purchased their own Scotty.

3. Read the pet classifieds in your local newspaper. These ads will provide contact information and often list a website. Make arrangements to meet with the owners to discuss prices and the sex and health of the Scotty puppies they have available. It is usually a good idea to ask for a health certificate from a veterinarian as well.
