Have A Kennel Filled With Young puppies Clean

Keeping their kennel clean will make their stay less stressful.

Just like guests staying a hotel, puppies and dogs staying at a kennel should have clean, sanitary accommodations. Having a number of puppies in a kennel at one time can be trying on many levels and keeping their kennel clean is one of them. Daily cleaning of the kennel is required to help keep bacteria at a minimum, which can affect the health of the puppies staying in the kennel.

Instructions

1. Move the puppies to a safe area away from where you are doing the cleaning.

2. Remove all items in the kennel area so that they can be cleaned as well. Disinfect all food bowls and plastic dog toys using pet-safe cleansers. Make sure that the items are fully rinsed and dried before replacing. Wash any bedding in hot water using perfume-free and dye-free laundry detergent. Dry the items on high.

3. Remove all waste material from the kennel floor. Rinse the kennel thoroughly with hot water.

4. Apply a disinfecting solution - similar to the one that you used for the pet bowls and toys - to clean and disinfect the cages; if using bleach, be sure to dilute it, using one part bleach to 32 parts water. Soak the entire kennel area with the solution, then rinse with hot water.

5. Use a scrub brush with stiff bristles to scrub any particularly dirty area or areas that are hard to clean, such as corners or any cage joints. Use liquid dish soap mixed with water to scrub any stains that cannot be hosed away,

6. Rinse the kennel area one more time with hot water. Use a clean mop or a squeegee to remove excess water. Allow the kennel to air dry. Return all items to the kennel. Fill the water bowls with fresh water and replenish food bowls.

7. Return the puppies to the kennel area.
