Dog outdoors
Outdoor dog urine odor is a nuisance. It causes an area of the outdoors to be unusable because of the unpleasant odor. It may take the dog urinating just once in an area or over a period of several days to make the smell noticeable. Regardless of the amount of urine that is in a particular area of the outdoors, the smell can be easily eliminated using a simple item found in many kitchen cabinets.
Instructions
1. Determine exactly what area the smell of urine is coming from. Areas with grass that have been affected may be brown in color instead of green because of the acid in the urine. Cement areas may have a yellow stain. It is important to find the exact area where the dog is urinating because if the whole area is not treated, there will still be a lingering smell of urine.
2. Mark the area that needs to be treated. If it is a grassy area, you can use stakes or stick flags into the ground. For cement areas, place a rope around it.
3. Wet the area with water. Just use enough water so the area is damp.
4. Sprinkle baking soda on the area. Let it sit for at least an hour so it absorbs the urine smell. For cement areas, use a scrub brush to scrub the area before you let it sit.
5. Rinse the area with water. For grassy areas, you will need to come back after the water has absorbed into the ground to check and see if the baking soda is washed away. If it has not, rinse the area again.
