Remove Pet Smells From The House

Pets are cute and fluffy but can give off an unpleasant aroma.

When people think of pet odors, they usually think of urine. However, urine is not the only pet odor that can fill your home with an unpleasant aroma. Pets have a smell that can be exaggerated by the weather. For example, allowing your dog in your home after he has been out in the rain will give your home a "wet dog" smell. There are a variety of ways that you can remove pet odors from your home naturally.

Instructions

1. Place small bowls or containers of vinegar throughout your rooms. Vinegar is a natural deodorizer that will remove pet odors.

2. Sprinkle baking soda liberally on your carpeting. Allow the baking soda to sit on the carpet for at least a few hours but preferably overnight. Vacuum the baking soda off the carpet. Repeat the process if needed.

3. Remove fresh urine from carpeting by blotting the stain with several paper towels. Flush the area with cool water and remove the excess liquid from the carpeting by blotting with paper towels or use a wet/dry vacuum. Sprinkle baking soda over the area and allow it to sit for a few minutes. Mix together 1 tsp. of liquid dish soap with 1/4 cup of hydrogen peroxide. Use a scrub brush to rub the mixture and baking soda into the carpet and allow it to air-dry. Vacuum the area after the carpet is completely dried.

4. Sprinkle baking soda inside your cat's litter box to help eliminate odors. Repeat the process as often as needed. Baking soda is all natural and will not cause any harm to your cat.

5. Fill a pot with water. Place several cinnamon sticks in the pot. Place the pot on the stove and simmer. The cinnamon will fill your home with a pleasant aroma. Alternatively, wrap several cinnamon sticks loosely in aluminum foil. Place the foil inside a warm oven for 15 minutes. Open the oven door to allow the cinnamon aroma to fill your home.
