Redding California Halloween Activities

Redding celebrates Halloween for weeks, not just a day.

Redding is a northern California city, the largest north of Sacramento. The community is home to about 100,000 people. Redding is a tight-knit, active community that loves to show civic pride and host celebrations. The city government, the recreation department and local businesses mark holidays with parties and events. Each year, Halloween brings fun things to do to Redding and the surrounding area.

Nash Ranch

Open from the beginning of October through November 1 each year, Nash Ranch houses a pumpkin patch, a haunted house and a corn maze. The pumpkin patch has been operating since 1991. The patch offers more than 40 gourd, squash and pumpkin types for picking. The haunted house celebrates its 20th year of scaring trick-or-treaters in 2010, and the corn maze boasts four twisting miles of high cornstalk paths to wander through, trying to find the way out. Nash Ranch is open seven days a week during the Halloween season.

Halloween Haunt Night and Spooky Lagoon

The Redding Recreation Department hosts "Halloween Haunt Night and Spooky Lagoon." The two-night Halloween event is held at the Redding Aquatic Center. The first night is geared toward smaller children, and the second night offers a scarier theme for older children. The event is touted as "Redding's only haunted house on the water." Guests encounter scary rooms while riding a raft through the haunted house. Trick-or-treating and a costume parade complete the experience.
