Riverboat Cruise ships Around The Wisconsin River

Sandstone rock formation on the Wisconsin River

The Wisconsin River is the state's largest river and often called "the hardest working river in America", with almost 30 dams along its path. It flows nearly through the state, beginning in northern Lac Vieux Desert and traveling 430 miles to southwest Prairie du Chien. Wisconsin is named after the river. Chippewas called it "Wees-konsan" (place of gathering waters), and Winnebagos named it "Wees-koos-crah" (river of flowery banks). Take a leisurely cruise on the majestic Wisconsin River to enjoy its beauty and splendor.
