Obtain A Urine Smell From An Outside Dog Pen

Remove dog urine odors without harmful chemicals.

An outdoor dog pen offers a backyard oasis that will allow a puppy or dog the chance to enjoy the open air without the danger of the pet running away. Unfortunately, many dogs will turn this area into a large, caged litter box. The urine smell left behind will make this area unpleasant for any humans congregating around it. Removing the urine smell from an outdoor dog pen is accomplished without the need of expensive, potentially harmful chemicals.

Instructions

1. Rinse the area off with a garden hose. Use a sprayer attachment on any noticeable urine stains if the dog pen is used on top of a concrete slab.

2. Pour one cup of water and two cups of white vinegar in a plastic spray bottle. Replace the bottle's top and shake vigorously to combine the ingredients.

3. Spray the mixture over the entire area. Scrub the mixture into the ground with a hard plastic scrub brush if the dog run is installed on top of concrete.

4. Rinse the vinegar and water mixture away with the garden hose.

5. Allow the area to air dry completely and sprinkle the ground inside of the dog run with baking soda. This will help soak up any remaining liquid and dog urine odor.
