Boxella boxer was the name given to the bloodline of boxers raised by Joe Heine.
When hearing the words "Boxella boxer," many people automatically assume it is a different breed of the traditional boxer. This, however, is a false assumption. A Boxella boxer is in fact only different from other boxers in its bloodlines and in its upbringing by a man named Joe Heine.
Joe Heine
Joe Heine, who passed away on March 27, 2011, was a boxer breeder who bred under the name Boxella for more than 60 years. Additionally, Heine lent his expertise to the boxer world as an American Kennel judge. Many look to Heine as the father figure of the boxer world for the love, dedication and hard work he devoted to the breed over the decades.
Boxella Boxer
In the 1940s, boxer breeder Heine set his kennel and the bloodlines it produced apart from the rest of the boxer world. The boxers produced by Heine became known as Boxella boxers. These dogs gained so much notoriety through Heine's influence on the breed that many began to think of the Boxella boxer as a different breed, not simply a bloodline.
Boxer Temperament
Boxers are known to be happy, high-spirited and rambunctious dogs. It is no different for the Boxella boxer bloodline. Therefore, it is important for boxer owners to have a home (and preferably a yard) with a lot of room in which the dog can let loose and expend its high energy. Boxers are also known to be intensely loyal dogs who are good with children, as long as they are properly socialized to the situation.
Cost and Commodity
The price of a boxer puppy can differ greatly depending on many factors. The location where the dog is purchased plays a role, as well as whether the dog was purchased from a private breeder or pet store. Therefore, a boxer can range anywhere from a few hundred dollars to nearly $1,000. The Boxella boxer bloodline tends to be even more expensive, as these dogs are considered a more desirable commodity.
