Personalize Class Rings

Class Rings

Class rings are a way to remember your school experience. You might wear your ring for the rest of your life. You want your class ring to combine school memories with your own personality. You can purchase a class ring for a home-schooled student so he doesn't feel left out, or as a graduation gift. Class rings should be jewelry pieces that you want to wear for years to come. Customize your ring so that it represents your interests and experiences in school.

Instructions

1. Use your school colors. This is the traditional way to design a class ring. Class rings usually have a large center gemstone in your school color. If you want to further customize your ring, go with your birthstone. Just make sure that you don't choose the color from your rival school. You can also choose a cubic zirconia for your class ring. This will simulate a diamond and will match any outfit. The gemstone is often synthetic, so be aware of this when you are pricing class rings.

2. Make it elegant. You may order your class ring and then find that you only want to wear it for a few months. It might not fit your personal style, or perhaps you don't want to live in the past. Class ring designs are becoming more versatile, however. You can design a ring that looks like an ordinary jewelry piece with minor customizations. This way you'll even be able to wear your ring to formal events.

3. Consider stackable class rings. Stackable rings offer a variety of options. One ring might have the year of your graduation while another band is engraved with your school mascot. Design one of your bands to be a traditional gemstone ring. You can mix and match the bands depending on the occasion and your mood, so you'll always be able to wear at least one of your class rings.

4. Add an icon. Your class ring can have several custom icons. These can be on either side of the gemstone, or even on top of the gem. Choose symbols from your sports teams, or a megaphone if you were a cheerleader. You can also add more general customizations to your class ring, such as wings, hearts or stars.

5. Have it engraved. You can engrave both the inside and outside of your class ring. There are limits to how long the word can be, so keep it short and simple. Try engraving "Class of..." or your nickname while in school.
