Save A Lhasa Apso In Texas

This one is waiting to be rescued!

The Lhasa Apso may seem hard to find in shelters, especially in a cow-dog kind of state like Texas, but after a few steps, you'll be well on your way to rescuing your own Lhasa Apso.

Instructions

1. Study up on your dog breeds. Make sure the Lhasa Apso is a good breed for you. he last thing you want is a dog that is not compatible with you and your family.

2. Keep in mind that there are breed-specific searches online. Go to a site such as Petfinder and type in "Lhasa Apso." After you give Petfinder your location and the breed, the site will give you a list of all Lhasa Apso dogs within your range.

3. Spend some time looking for the Lhasa Apso that you want.

4. After deciding on the dog you want on Petfinder, double-click on the dog and get all of the information you need. Sometimes the fee to adopt is different, depending on the shelter. Petfinder is a service used by many shelters each with their own adopting policies.

5. After going to the right site for your dog, you will need to fill out their application, possibly be put on a waiting list, participate in a home visit, and submit veterinary records (if you have owned a pet). Every site and shelter varies, so read all of their information.

6. Be prepared to wait. No one finds their perfect match immediately. Your Lhasa Apso might take longer to rescue than to buy a Lhasa Apso from a breeder or a pet store but in the end, you will be helping your community, your wallet and your new companion.
