Modular buildings have many unique uses.
Modular buildings are constructed in a factory and then shipped in parts to a prepared foundation area for assembly. They can be installed for temporary use, in which case they are easily disassembled and relocated, and can also be installed permanently. One advantage of modular buildings over traditionally constructed ones is that the parts are completed in the factory at a rapid rate with lower costs. They have numerous unique uses.
Anti-Vandalism Units
In many urban areas, it has become necessary for buildings to take measures to prevent damage due to vandalism. Modular building manufacturers offer construction that resists vandalism for this reason. These buildings are made entirely of steel with hinged or sliding shutters that protect windows. They can be used to house secure documents, financial institution branch offices or other businesses needing more secure accommodations. These steel buildings are also used in refineries or other volatile environments for safety purposes. Businesses such as refineries may choose these to keep workers safe in the event of an explosion or other unforeseen hazard.
Custom Playhouses
Many modular building companies specialize in unusual designs and applications. One such design is that of a child's playhouse. Depending on the parents' budget, these playhouses can be custom designed and come with electricity, carpet or hardwood floors. Many have a traditional gingerbread Victorian-era façade and are painted. Sizes range from one room, 8 foot by 8 foot models, to true mini mansions with two floors and running water. Once the building is in place, parents can landscape miniature gardens and install picket fences to add to the authentic look and feel. It is up to the parents to locate or build the miniature furniture to decorate these modern playhouses, but the modular construction will usually arrive with custom painting and trim for the outside already in place.
Doggie Digs
Believe it or not, modular building manufacturers have begun marketing luxury modular dog houses as well. One of the most luxurious designs is a Victorian modular home and kennel combination. These doggie mansions have a 4 foot by 8 foot interior living space with a fenced 6 foot by 8 foot "back yard" kennel area for freedom and exercise. Options include rain gutters and a choice of chain link fence styles for the kennel enclosure. Upon ordering, the dog owner chooses shingle style and type, house color and trim color. The home arrives with beautiful Victorian gingerbread trim, wooden trusses and safety glass windows with screens. Any dog that gets one of these homes is one lucky dog indeed.
