Clean Dog Urine Outdoors

Dogs will return to the same spot to mark their territory.

Dogs make lovable, playful pets but also need care and attention. Sometimes your dog will need to relieve himself in the garden or yard when taking a stroll is not possible. Urine seeps into surfaces and produces an unpleasant odor over time. Regularly washing your dog's favorite marking spot will eliminate the unpleasant urine odor from wafting indoors. You can produce an inexpensive homemade deodorizer to eliminate the urine odor using household, non-toxic ingredients which are not harmful to your dog.

Instructions

1. Put on a pair of disposable rubber gloves.

2. Sprinkle baking soda on the urine stain. Baking soda is a natural deodorizer that will also soak up any excess urine.

3. Mix 1/2 gallon of vinegar, 1/2 gallon water, and 1 cup baking soda in a large cleaning bucket. Vinegar is a deodorizer that will react with baking soda to form a cleaning agent.

4. Pour the vinegar and baking soda mix in equal amounts on the outdoor urine spots.

5. Brush in the solution with a stiff-bristled yard brush if using on decks, driveways or patios.

6. Allow the solution to air-dry.
