Grants or loans For Animal Welfare

With the aid of an animal welfare grant, there is hope for them.

Each year, millions of pets enter animal shelters. The lucky ones find new homes with new loved ones. The lives of the unlucky ones end in euthanization. Grants to animal welfare and humane agencies and nonprofit animal rescue groups help provide veterinary care, spay/neuter surgeries, supplies and other necessities and give more animals a chance for a good quality of life.

Maddie's Fund

Maddie's Fund offers a variety of grants for animal welfare, ranging from only a few thousand dollars for local organization to funding multimillion dollar projects in collaboration with municipalities. Animal welfare grants are limited to the needs of dogs and cats in the United States. Grants include funding for veterinary colleges developing shelter medical programs, veterinary equipment for shelters employing a minimum of one full-time veterinarian, communities wishing to develop no-kill or adoption guarantee shelters and starter grants for animal shelters, animal control agencies and adoption guarantee organizations.

The William and Charlotte Parks Foundation Grants

This foundation dedicated to animal welfare offers three types of grants. Capital matching grants fund building or improvement of shelters in areas demonstrating the need for such facilities. Project grants fund specific research for animal welfare. The general operating funds grant is intended for small animal welfare organizations that detail effective programs to reduce animal suffering and support animal welfare.

Petfinder Foundation Grants

The Petfinder Foundation provides funds for several types of animal welfare activity. The Emergency Response and Disaster Relief program helps shelters prepare for emergencies and offers aid to such shelters and pet owners in the event of a disaster. The Caring for Shelter Pets program funds vaccinations at animal shelters, helping to petsavoid the many contagious and preventable diseases prevalent in these facilities. The Sponsor A Pet program gives money to shelters that may have to euthanize adoptable pets because of financial restrictions and allows more time to find a suitable home for the animal.

ASPCA Grants

The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals awards a variety of animal welfare grants annually to eligible nonprofit 501(c) 3 organizations. It includes grants to animal shelters and animal control programs for spaying and neutering, fostering, adoption and transport, shelter operating expenses and veterinary medications and euthanasia reduction when due to space limitations. Applicants must first submit a letter of inquiry, including their federal tax identification number. After review by ASPCA officials, eligible organizations are asked to submit applications.
